North Texas is an-all volunteer organization, including an all-volunteer staff. Our membership includes prostate cancer support groups within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex as well as an African American Group dedicated to Prostate Cancer and Disease Awareness.

NTxPCC is assisting awareness and early detection programs by supporting local communities and medical institutions during health fair, testing and other awareness events. Donations are used for programs in Texas only.

Specific education programs administered by the North Texas Prostate Cancer Coalition include

  • An Annual Symposium, featuring medical specialists
  • The Long-Term-Survivor (LTS) program. This program provided a list of long term survivors on this website. These survivors may be called to discuss their experience with specific treatment. There is provision for spousal support as well. LTS members are also volunteering for hospital visits to newly treated survivors at selected hospitals.
  • A Survivor Chat; The “Let’s Talk on Tuesday … About Prostate Cancer” program is a successful and award-winning chat where newly diagnosed and recurring survivors consult LTS members on their own experience, face-to-face.
  • A Speaker Bureau which offers presentations to local community groups to increase awareness of prostate cancer within the North Texas community.
